Austin Bulk Pickup or Private Junk Removal?

Austin has an on-demand bulk collection program for eligible households. Compare that curbside service with a private junk removal request so you can choose the right route for your items.

Austin offers on-demand bulk collection

If you are an eligible Austin Resource Recovery residential customer, municipal bulk collection may fit your job. Austin’s current program lets eligible households schedule collection, with up to three collections of each service type per calendar year. Eligibility is tied to the municipal program, not simply an Austin mailing address.

The city’s bulk list includes many household items such as furniture and appliances. Its published exclusions include construction and remodeling debris. Municipal bulk pickup is a curbside service with preparation and appointment requirements.

Read the official Austin on-demand collection guide before setting items out. It has the current eligibility, scheduling, accepted-item and preparation rules.

What to check before choosing municipal collection

  • Does your address receive the eligible municipal service?
  • Are all of your items on the current accepted list?
  • Can you meet the collection appointment and curbside preparation requirements?
  • Does the request include project debris or other materials excluded from that program?

If the municipal option covers your items and preparation, check that route first. A private quote is a separate choice with its own price, acceptance and scope.

Private junk removal for furniture, cleanouts and debris

Describe the job you actually need reviewed: one bulky item, several rooms, a garage cleanout or materials from a remodel. Explain where the items are now and any stairs, narrow doors, gates or loading restrictions. These details let the provider assess the work instead of assuming it is a simple curbside pile.

Confirm whether indoor lifting, loading, disassembly or a cleanup sweep is included. Those services are not established by the words “junk removal” alone. Agree the full scope and price before arranging removal.

At AllGone, you can start with furniture removal, appliance removal, garage cleanouts or construction debris removal. Mixed item lists can be reviewed together; acceptance and availability are confirmed for your job.

Questions that make a quote clearer

  • What does the total price cover, and what could change it?
  • Which items and materials are accepted?
  • Where must the items be before the appointment?
  • Who is responsible for appliance disconnection or other preparation?
  • What timing is available for the actual address?

Use the quote guide and pickup preparation guide to review the details. Request a quote based on your item list and access details, then confirm the total price before arranging removal.
